Stripe Connect + regions

Hi,

I was talking to a Stripe sales agent who pointed out that if you use the ‘Separate charges and transfers’ method of processing payments within Stripe Connect, it isn’t possible to make this work if the platform and connected account are in different regions (e.g. one is in Europe and the other in the US).

I’m presuming Sharetribe uses this payment method in connect?

If so does this mean that Sharetribe won’t work using Stripe if a buyer is in a different region to the platform?

At present, Sharetribe Go relies on Destination charges and this isn’t a problem there.

Did you face any issue with Destination charges so far? Any reason why you’re especially considering Separate charges?

That answers my question. I incorrectly assumed it might have used separate charges, so this is what I wanted to hear :grin:
