I tried to integrate Google Ad sense into my sharetribe website but Google Ad sense rejects any website that uses “paths” like companyname.sharetribe.com so when I entered www.wezon.sharetribe.com it was rejected. I decided to use my domain name www.wezon.co which I use as a re-direct to the sharetribe website. Now to complete the process Google Ad sense wanted me to insert a piece a HTML code into my website between the head tags but I don’t know how to get it done from here. Should I attempt to enter the code in the sharetribe Go website (I don’t think that can be done unless I upgrade to the Pro-version) or I could try to enter the piece of code into the www.wezon.co but I have no website setup behind that domain. I hope my explanation wasn’t too confusing. Any help would be appreciated.
Indeed, that seems to be a recently added requirement/limitation at AdSense. A bit annoying!
A reminder: that Community forum is used primarily by people relying on the source-available Community Edition of Sharetribe Go, on their own servers. I understand that you’re using the hosted version at Sharetribe.com so don’t hesitate to discuss with Sharetribe’s support team via your Admin panel
Back to your situation.
Having the redirect might fool AdSense for the required domain field, but that probably won’t work with this additional step of verification, indeed.
In the Go hosted version, you can add any Custom script into the <head> tag via the Custom script section, in the Design tab of your Admin panel. So you can add that verification code there. But again, it might not be enough for AdSense as in practice that code will be served by the sharetribe.com domain, not your own. It’s worth a try though, and if you’re offered other verification methods that could be investigated too!
You could also contact AdSense support. Usually, they are quite responsive so they might share some insights on how to move forward with that situation, and provide some tips of workarounds/alternatives.
Unfortunately, it might also be such a strong recommendation nowadays that moving to your own domain might be the only valid option, if AdSense if key for your growth. Hopefully you’ll be able to get it work already with your free trial!
@Ayite Hey no worries, you can definitely post here too! I just wanted to mention that you’re most likely to get advice, tips and experiences from people using the Community Edition, but others might also have good inputs, so it was a good idea to post here
