Visitors can browse your marketplace without having to sign up. However, in order to interact with your marketplace and other people, visitors need to create an account. A user account is needed in order to post listings, interact with other users, and initiate transactions.
As a marketplace Operator, you can access your Sharetribe Console account, but that does not mean you have an account in your marketplace. To create a user account, you need to follow the same process as all your users: go to your marketplace sign-up page and sign up!
1. Fill the signup details
On the signup page, enter the requested details:
Email
First name
Last name
Password
Bear in mind that if the email is already being used in the marketplace, you cannot create an account with that email. If you have modified the user fields with a developer, the signup page might have different requested fields.
You can use the same email that you used to create your Sharetribe account. A secure password is recommended. However, If this is only your test marketplace account, you can also use a simpler, easier-to-remember password.
After reading them, accept the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy and click “Sign up.” Remember that you can always customize your terms of service and privacy policy through the Pages editor. Read more about this here.

2. Confirm your email address
Once you create a user account, you need to confirm your email address. You will receive an email with a link to confirm your email address.
You can start using some functions of the marketplace without confirming your email address. However, in order to get full access, it is better to confirm your email address right away.

3. All done!
Once you confirm your email address, you are ready to explore the marketplace as a user. Once you create an account, you can also create listings and update your user information. And if another user in your marketplace has a listing, you can start a transaction.
Can I add fields to the signup form?
It is not possible to modify how the signup works unless you want to customize your marketplace with code. In the near future, we would like to develop a feature that would allow Operators to customize the signup form without code.
