In October and November 2024, Stripe announced an update to their terms. It impacts you, the marketplace admin, and providers on your marketplace that use online payments with Stripe.

Review the new terms

You should review the new terms and decide if you agree with them. If not, you'll have to shut down your Stripe account and use another payment gateway.

You can learn more about the changes on this Stripe's page in the "What is changing?" section.

Let users of your marketplace know

Stripe is also updating their terms for Connect accounts. If your marketplace uses online payments with Stripe, you are using Stripe Connect with Custom accounts.

You should let providers in your marketplace know about the new Stripe terms. You should do this before December 31st, 2024.

You can email users of your marketplace using a mass emailing tool such as Mailchimp. Stripe provides an template for the message to send your users in the "I’m a Connect Platform User with Custom or Express Connected Accounts, or with Connected Accounts without access to a Stripe Dashboard. What do I need to do?" section on this page.
